Who is the course for?
This course is great for anyone creative who has a basic knowledge and skill level in Adobe Illustrator and is looking to expand on this using Adobe Illustrator’s more advanced features
What is the course about?
Adobe Illustrator is one of Adobe’s most versatile computer applications. On this intermediate creative, non-qualification based course, you will have the opportunity to expand on your basic Illustrator knowledge to explore the application’s many creative features. You will learn about advanced vector drawing concepts and techniques, enabling you to create more complex graphics and illustrations. You will have the opportunity to apply techniques demonstrated including the most commonly used effects and transformations to modify and improve your designs. In addition, you will be looking at how to use brushes, patterns, and graphic styles. You will learn how to use layers and masks, helping you to manage complex artwork more easily. You will learn how to use colour and gradients as well as more in-depth typographic content.
During the course we will cover:
· Creating and editing Bezier curves, creating compound paths
· Transform tools
· Working with masks, exploring blend modes and transparency
· In-depth text and typography
· Explore brushes, patterns, symbols and graphic styles
· Image tracing and live paint
· Ways to enhance workflow
· Preparing documents for commercial print
This course will be taught in a PC Computer room, the application runs the same on both Windows and Mac based operating systems with minor differences that will be covered if needed.
Please note: the software version used is Adobe Illustrator CS6. This is not the latest version but will still provide the same knowledge needed to use Adobe Illustrator CC
Do I need to bring anything?
Bring a notepad and pen as notes of shortcuts and key information will be helpful to takeaway with you. Catering facilities at the college on the weekend is limited so it is advisable to bring your own refreshments
