Adobe Photoshop for Beginners

Who is the course for?

Students who are newcomers to Adobe Photoshop; perhaps seeking to demystify this brilliant but complex software package, the course is suitable for those who work with digital images for personal or business use.

What is the course about?

Creating and enhancing digital images using the professional package Adobe Photoshop CS6 on a PC.
The lesson content may be adapted to previous versions of Photoshop or Adobe Elements (PC or Mac).

Topics will include: 


·       getting to know Adobe Photoshop & Bridge

·       operating a digital camera, scanner and printer

·       photo correction basics

·       working with selections

·       layer basics

·       using adjustment layers

·       type and vector tools

·       camera Raw basics



 You will learn how to gain quick and satisfying results from Adobe Photoshop, including how to:

·       enhance your photographs

·       switch images between colour, black and white or sepia

·       prepare images for print or screen


 Are there any course requirements?

No, but you should have some previous experience of using a computer and file management.

 Do I need to bring anything?

An A4 folder, a USB memory sticks to back-up and transfer work to and from home or work. (Your tutor will provide a selection of image files for practical assignments but your personal image files will also be useful).

You will have access to an all-in-one scanner/colour laser printer. You will receive advice on software, books and other resources for digital imaging.
