AAT are a worldwide organisation with more than 100,000 members and are established as the standard for accounting technicians.
Who is the course for?
Students who have completed the AAT Certificate in Accounting course or achieved other accounting qualifications and wish to progress towards this advanced diploma qualification.
If you have not taken any accounting qualifications you may be able to start at this level if you have relevant and current experience in the workplace. If you are in this position we will ask you to complete an accounts screening test to establish your previous knowledge. What is the course about?
You will study the following 6 topics:
- Advanced Book-keeping
- Final accounts preparation
- Management accounting: Costing
- Indirect tax
- Ethics for accountants
- Spreadsheets for accounting
The work will be mainly teacher directed, and you will have the opportunity to complete lots of practice activities.
How is it assessed?
You will be assessed by 4 computer-based exams and 1 computer-based synoptic assessment.
Do I need to bring anything?
Basic study materials including a calculator
Are there any other costs?
You will be advised on the textbooks to purchase and you will need to either register or re-register with AAT after the course starts. (Registration is approx. £130, and re-registration is approx. £88).
This course will expect you to put in additional study outside of class in order to keep up with the fast pace.
