Who is the course for?

This one day course is for anyone who has ever wanted to make basic alterations to a favourite item of clothing.


What is the course about?

In this class you will learn how to do an alteration on the saddle/waist of a pair of trousers, the length of a pair of jeans, shorten a dress/skirt and shorten the sleeves of a shirt.


Are there any course requirements?

A basic knowledge of sewing is required.  You will be also need to bring in your own sewing machine, scissors, matching thread, pins, tape measure, tailors chalk/pen, unpicker.


Do I need to bring anything?

For this class you will need to bring the following items of clothing to work on.  These could be no longer required or items you would like to be altered.

  • A pair of trousers
  • A pair of jeans
  • Shirt/blouse
  • Dress/skirt

Catering facilities at New College will be limited on a Saturday it is suggested that you bring your own refreshments.
